HULA rocking chair is a unique piece presented for Adorno's NY exhibition Danish Predictions, a virtual group show bringing twenty Danish designer-makers to New York.
By its four superimposed steel circles, HULA encompasses the bodily movements and its rhythm. The circles cross in two directions and create eight cross points. In three of the circles, a horizontal iron bar creates stabilization, and holds the seat and back of the chair. Straps between the cross pieces make a very nice seating.
HULA is a playful reference to the hula hoop ring. Inscribed within a circle and square, the construction of HULA is inspired by the iconic Vitruvian Man drawing. A light construction with a great volume. The look transforms depending on the angle from which the chair is viewed.
It's a must try, - and have. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Production on demand.
Kevin Hviid studio is getting ready for the darkest month of the year by presenting the Trit lamp. The sculptural lamp was presented for the Cabinetmakers' Exhibition, in the occasions of their 40th birthday. The design marries form and function, creating a piece that is elegant and flexible.
Beautiful both with and without lighting, this lamp adds to a room's atmosphere even when it is not turned on. Planning on launch in 2022.
ATBO has produced this lovely video, showing Cocoon discussions behind the scenes.

Release of the table Oli. Oli is an interpretation of magic and illusion. Life is too short to be too overly serious all the time. It certainly does not hurt to have a companion that can see the bright spots in life. Oli is your companion.
This table is Tim Burton and Memphis in a new interpretation and a new garb, full of fun and illusions that stimulate and hone your senses.
The ellipse is in a strong blue color, in contrast to the tabletop. The wood of the tabletop is soft and well-crafted, rich in details, depths. The ellipse is metallic blue with a cold surface, no further depths but with a mirror reflection in the middle, which replicates the geometric shapes of the ellipse to infinity and creates complete confusion of where the table starts or ends. The two constructions have very different character and speak to your senses. The cherry on top are the fluorescent acrylic plexiglass sheets, giving a special touch of light and color and contrast to the natural laws of material composition.
Oli was presented at The Danish Cabinetmakers Autumn Exhibition 2020. This edition 2020 took place in Copenhagen’s historical Tivoli Gardens for a celebration of illusions.

Kevin Hviid Studio has designed the new undercarriage 'FRAME' for ATBO bookcases. We are pleased about the results and happy to help ATBO achieve their design goals.
'FRAME' makes the ATBO bookcase an elegant and versatile element in modern interior. We wanted the undercarriage to complement the shape of the modules. A seamless fit in a timeless style sumps up our design ambition. The result emphasizes the cube shape of the modules, making them more light by introducing a thin visual element and axis. The frame adds an ease to the boxes by lifting them from the ground.
'FRAME' comes in steel and wood and in three sizes. More info at ATBO - www.atbo.dk
ATBO is more than a bookcase. ATBO is history, storage solutions and Danish cabinetmaking at its finest. Since ATBO was founded in 1967, our ambition has been to create furniture of the highest quality, designed and made in Denmark.
ATBO began with the now famous cabinetmaker's bookcase in exclusive woods. The bookcase represents our DNA. It is a classic that has been used to store books and objects for generations. Going forward, we preserve the simple modernist expression that the bookcase was born with and invite it into the future with new accessories. With a few adaptions, you can now achieve a variety of expressions and a higher degree of mobility, making it easy to integrate the bookcase into your flexible home interiors.
ATBO continues its journey as we work ambitiously and diligently with our cabinetmakers and designers to supplement our brand with additional furniture collections. Traditional craftsmanship, exquisite materials and a durable aesthetic remain the core values as we continue to create furniture with the potential to be handed down for generations.
We’ve started an exciting collaboration with ATBO on the Cocoon lounge chair! They will be producing and distributing it. You can purchase Cocoon via their website and see the current possibilities for upholstery. More info to come. Do not hesitate to contact us or ATBO for wholesale and special inquiries

Our mission has been to create a new icon. A timeless lounge chair for private and public spaces. Cocoon Lounge fit just as well in homes as in the hotel lobby or restaurant lounge.
Cocoon lounge is a lounge chair that blurs the boundary between furniture and architecture. It is inspired by the organic modernism of the 60’s, where soft and sculptural shapes melt together. The design is the result of a fusion between the beauty in rattan fabric and a curvy, unified wood silhouette, creating together a harmonious and inviting feel. Recalling the classic egg-shaped hanging chair, Cocoon Lounge is the perfect nook to cozy up in.
Depending on the color combinations, the chair has a versatile expression, which can range from a serious, muted boho-chic, to a vibrant playful look.
Cocoon Lounge is designed by Danish designduo KEVIN HVIID (Architect b.1978) x MARTIN KECHAYAS (Designer b.1969).
Dimensions are 720mm (d) x 640mm (w) x 1300mm (h).

Whit and output spanning architecture, art and design, Kevin Hviid makes furniture in bold forms with a playful twist. His work is infused with Memphis shapes and color references: the rounded “Bob Bench”, for example, is geometric and elegant, in vivid but understated hues. For fashion label Ganni - a cult brand known for its stylish, offbeat womenswear, like leopard-print tea dresses and cowboy-inspired ankle boots - Hviid created the “Queen” chair, one of a series of four seats. It combines steel and soft leather in peachy tones, and is notable for its high oval back and slender profile. You can road-test it at Ganni´s shop on Store Regnegade(T20885311), in addition to his 3m-tall swinging “Iris” chair, assembled from nylon straps in a spectrum of neon that wrap a steel frame.

Queen stands with its high back and fine silhouette. The steel construction is broken up by the soft leather piece on the seat and back with adjustable straps. The design is eye-catching and dynamic. This is the sophisticated choice.
Nominated for designer of the year, Danish Design Awards 2018
"The design language of Kevin Hviid has something very haute couture about it"
Billy is a round bench with seating for two persons on both sides. Billy is an unique piece designed for MINDCRAFT18, on display in Milan during the design week, where the historical San Simpliciano cloister forms the setting for the exhibition. MINDCRAFT is an exhibition concept showcasing some of Denmark's most talented craftspeople and designers.
The Danish Arts Foundation invited furniture designer Ditte Hammerstrøm to be this year’s curator and exhibition designer. She in turn selected 17 participants among Denmark’s leading craft makers and designers, who were given the opportunity to present new bespoke works to the international audience at one of the world’s most important design events.
Curator Ditte Hammerstrøm says about her selection:
‘The Danish crafts and design scene is very strong right now. The participants I have selected are among the very best in their field and able to produce site-specific works for the exhibition venue. They all employ an experimental process and take a unique approach to their materials. As a group, they represent the high level of diversit0y, innovation and quality that characterizes Danish crafts and design right now.’
A strong team with a diverse expression
Spanning from ceramics, glass and jewellery to textile and furniture design, the participants represent a diverse range of disciplines and approaches to materials, process and form.
This year’s MINDCRAFT participants are:
Anja Vang Kragh, Pettersen & Hein (Lea Hein, Magnus Pettersen), Petra Dalström, Kevin Hviid, Kasper Kjeldgaard, Maria Koshenkova, Louise Campbell, Katrine Borup, Iben Høj, Isabel Berglund, Carl Emil Jacobsen, Gitte Jungersen, Cecilie Bendixen, Rasmus Fenhann, Wednesday Architecture (Sofie Trier Mørk, Lise Bjerre Schmidt).
The careful mix of established and new talents represents the qualities that characterize contemporary Danish craft and design with an emphasis on knowledge of materials, craftsmanship, new methods and an experimental approach.

Irïs swinging couch is a design collab between architect Kevin Hviid and GANNI fashion house. It has been designed for the 2017 Cabinetmakers’ Exhibition
Side by Side Outside
How can furniture promote human encounters in the public space? See 40 possible answers to this question in the garden of Designmuseum Danmark, where this year’s pieces of outdoor furniture designs interpret this social goal.
The exhibition and concept were developed in a collaboration between exhibition architect and furniture designer Mads Kjædegaard and Stig L. Andersson, design director, founding partner of SLA. grundplan.dk sla.dk
A piece of furniture with curves, character and sharp elbows.
Irïs stands tall and proud. She is colourful, both inside and out, stands out from the background and attracts attention.
Irïs’s skirts swing and sway as she brings one, two or more people back and forth in her arms, but Irïs also offers room and time for reflection and lingering in the moment by providing a sheltered, intimate space in her arms.
Irïs is a sturdily built woman who can handle all sorts of weather and has no problem being moved to somewhere else, but she also stands her ground, facilitating good connections with her cheerful mood. A lady who deserves to be embraced, enjoyed and seen. Irïs will earn anyone’s respect and always be remembered for providing a good experience.

Queen was designed as part A collection of chairs, which consists of 4 pieces: King, Queen, Jack and Ace.
All four chairs consist of a light rectangular steel construction, each one with its own quality and strength, but all four designed from a same architectural line and starting point. From there on, geometries, angles and heights vary for each of the chairs. These differences make them each uniquely beautiful and suitable in the home. We call them four in a row.

Bob at Le Bon Marché in Paris.
The world’s first department store, le Bon Marché, opened its doors in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés in 1852, giving life to the idea of visionary Frenchman Aristide Boucicaut. Over the years, le Bon Marché has become the symbol of the Left Bank and its artful approach to life, where the most prestigious fashion names (Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel…), design, fine foods, art and culture mingle with impossible elegance. Le Beau Marché contacted us because they wanted to have Bob.
Bob shared space with a selection of exclusive brands and new designers about to break big.
BOB Bench is inspired by the Memphis movement, where form does not have to follow function, and where design is about communication. It is a very graphical piece of furniture, which strives to communicate and attract attention to its presence.
It is constructed with rectangular and circular steel pipes painted in black and white and bold primary colors, the bench’s back rest and overhanging seat form a perfect circle. The armrests are in brass.
The bench was selected to be presented at REFORM 2016 Design Biennale (www.re-form.dk/), a biannual exhibition space, which strives to assemble the strongest field within modern Danish design
KING is currently exhibited in flagship store of GANNI fashion house. GANNI is a scandinavian street-style favourite brand, a Danish invasion in Technicolor.
KING was designed as part A collection of chairs, which consists of 4 pieces: King, Queen, Jack and Ace.
All four chairs consist of a light rectangular steel construction, each one with its own quality and strength, but all four designed from a same architectural line and starting point. Redesign and transformation of Johan Bulow factory
The project consist of a refurbishment of an old washroom (prior soft drink factory) into an office environment, headquarter and showroom for danish liquorice export-star Lakrids by Johan Bülow. A factory, an office environment but also an event space with guided liquorice tours.
Architect by heart, we also do "classic" architectural projects. Office building and rebuilding, transformation, restoration and planning tasks. Advising companies both in the private and public sectors in collaboration with archictural firms.
We do innovative projects across Europe for shops and offices. We strive to make all projects unique, to develop spectacular creative ideas that leave lasting impressions.
We believe in challenging customers way of thinking by developing concepts they didn’t know to expect, yet with a clear understanding of economic aspects of the design. Contact us if you are not afraid to challenge and surprise clients.
Vinkel is a made of wooden boxes cut in different angles. It plays with perspective, and creates an illusion of change when you move around it, changing form from each viewing point.
The Flip bookshelf is both a square, a hexagon and a trapezoid form imposed on each other. A simple manipulation of the edges creates a bookshelf that can be perceived differently depending on your viewpoint, or the way you flip it. At its base, it is still a square and functional box, great for storing books, or creating a playful frame around your everyday objects.
FLIP shelf is made of 6 mm painted or oak-veneered waterproof mdf board.
